I'm looking for a 'daily driver' and my budget is seven or eight thousand. I'd like to find something 'local' to me. There's one in the San Diego area that interests me. I found it on Autotrader, but the owner was briefly on here while he was swapping motors (old 311). The modern motor and brakes on this one appeal to me, but I'm unsure about the amount of body & interior work that'll be required.

IMHO, for the amount of body work and interior you can SEE, not worth the price!

And it's misssing all the side trim - maybe not an issue!

Looks pretty rough for that kind of $$$. I did a sr20 swap and love the results, but there are different ways of getting that done. Looks to me that, though the swap might be fully functional, it's not a very clean, buttoned up job. Hidden rust issues and swap clean-up costs, I feel it's over-priced. FWIW Pat

I see that there's actually another sub-forum for valuation questions/opinions about cars. I'll post questions there on any other ones I look at.

Kind of depends on what else is living with it under the tarp. Mine was under a tarp before I acquired it. Interior suffered more than anything. It is still trying to stay dead. I will not accept that. Good luck in your search. I agree with finding the best you can afford. I did it bass ackwards.

be choosey and buy one without rust! you will never regret it......suggest CA or AZ car!avoid the temptation to be cheap....

That doesnt seem too bad for the price. Its just an asking price, right? If the swap is completed and you have ~$3k left for paint and body work you'll be a decent position. I would check it out at least. I looked at a few before I settled on mine.

I wouldnt even bother fixing some of the panels, I would just replace them. Most body parts arent too difficult to find. I think someone in NorCal had a bunch for sale for a smoking deal too
