Woo Hoo - Almost out of paint jail!
I have not posted in quite some time because my project was stalled in paint jail. Some of you may remember this car in army green primer. Finally some forward progress. I'm anxious to see this color in the sun. It's a HOK product and should have a some of hints of copper when the sun hits it. I'm hoping to have it back in my shop by May, then reassembly and interior this summer.

Beautiful color and the car looks very straight... I bet you're stoked! It's a nice milestone to reach, congrats!

Re: Woo Hoo - Almost out of paint jail!
Thank you for the kind comments. I wasn't so sure about this color. I wanted red but I also wanted something that I hadn't seen before. This car has been block sanded to death, so yes it is very straight and the gaps are pretty much perfect. We're going to do some spray-outs for some BRE ghost stripes, and if I see something I like it may get that treatment as well.
For giggles I went back in time to try to figure out when I started this project. I was shocked - summer of 2010. Below is my original post-
"Hello Gents!
I just yanked my 1966 1600 Roadster out of the barn for the first time in 30 years. I bought the roadster when I was in High School and drove the snot out of it clear through college, then retired it to the barn. Now it's in my shop 90% disassembled and I'm just about ready to be put it on the rotisserie. It needs a ton of sheet metal work. I'll add it to the registry when I get a chance. I'll be asking plenty of stupid questions so please be patient.
Regards,
Steve
