1500 front wheel cylinders

Post by ambradley »

I have four new front wheel cylinders for a PL411. I've heard they are the same as 1500 wheel cylinders. Can someone verify if that is correct? I'm hoping maybe it's the same part just numbered differently.

I found the excellent 1500 manual at http://www.datsun2000.com/tech/1500_man ... _brake.pdf and they look the same. Both that manual and Rallye's website list separate wheel cylinders for the driver's and passenger's side. Is that also correct, or can they be swapped from passenger side to driver's side?

I posted a few pictures at http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/adam.brad ... .dir=/4d5d. Please let me know what you think.

For the 1500, passenger/driver side wheel cylinders are not interchangable. The rear passenger/driver cylinders are the same.

Not sure if the pl410 / spl310 use the same parts. I have some old 1500 wheel cylinders somewhere in the garage..I'll try to find them this weekend to compare.

I've got a new 1500... wouldn't mind refreshing the brake system. Will send you a PM.

Thanks for the quick reply! On the 411, the wheel cylinders are mounted left/right, not top/bottom. I just went to www.nissanparts.cc and they do show part numbers for driver's and passenger's side wheel cylinders for the 411 (4110x-18400). Even more telling though is when I type in the SPL310 part numbers (4110x-10600), it changes it to the 18400 number. Sadly, I have three of one (41100-18400) and one of the other (41101-18400) - not enough to do a whole car even if they could go on either side.

I also have a set of 411 front brake shoes in a sealed bag, probably relined, and they look identical to the picture of 1500 brake shoes on Dean's site. You'll need to buy two wheel cylinders from someone else, but I'm sure I can sell these to you for less than you'd pay elsewhere. My parts will get you more than half-way there. :-)
