If any member has an automatic ka24 in their roadster I'd love to ask a few questions. I've tried searching and can't find anything on it so I'd like to find out if we have to cut the x member like in an automatic sr20 or if we can leave it unmodified and just widen the trans tunnel.

The automatic transmission on the KA is the same as the SR20 (other than the bolt-on bell housing), so I would think that you will need to do the same mods.

Here is what we had to do on a automatic SR20 swap years ago:

Well, looks like I'm going to have to save up for a plasma cutter to modify the x member. All because the misses swears manuals are "scary and confusing"

Tell your wife that things are always scary until they are known. She probably didn't start riding a bike without starting off with training wheels, but eventually she was able to ride without problem right? I have taught many people how to drive a manual transmission. It will be a bonding experience!

Makes sense. Didnt mean to offend you or anything. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll be sure to try and contact the owner. Hopefully between them, and the other pictures by spriso I can get this project started while I wait on parts for my other project.
