What is the bolt head size of the bolts that hold the rotor to the hub?
17mm is too big
11/16 is too big
15mm is too small
5/8 is too small

Do I need to go try to find a 16mm socket?

thanks

I'd look for a 21/32 socket and a 16mm socket.

Thank you. Definitely two that I don't have.

????? Nope. It is definitely, without question a 5/8 head unless some dingdong forced the the wrong fastener in there. it is 7/16 SAE bolt w/ 5/8 head.

Almost all the chassis is SAE - very few exceptions.

If rusty you should be able to tap the 5/8" on with a tiny hammer.

I wondered about that. I have not separated those, so I just split the difference in my comment

5/8 for sure if unviolated, but you never know what some PO could have done//

Yeah i must be using too large of a screw driver. I might have to use my little flat head and see if that works. It just kind of kept bulging when i would try to poke it thru and just did not want to go in the hole.
Did you get it to work with just the small screwdriver? I'm trying it now, and losing my patience!

They are not the cleanest bolt heads but not overly swollen with rust either. And both are definitely original. I will see about pushing a 5/8 impact socket in.

thanks all!

Did the 1966 Roadster come with the Round shift Knob or the "tear drop" style shift knob

Based on the manuals, '66 had a round shift knob.

Is there a drum shoe spring from another car that I can use? My top one is broken and none of the stores near me carry it or have it nearby. Thanks.

I have some from a rear beam Ive torn apart but they are pretty rusty otherwise I would send them your way....

I have some questions but can only think of one right now...

I adjusted my timing at idle to 20* after taking it out for some 'spirited' sprints it seems to be breaking up a little in the higher RPMs, should I back it off a little, or whats the next step I should take to get it running awesome?

I'd back it off to 16 degrees
