Except for the horn all current flows through the ammeter. If it starts then the problem is down the line. After the fuse then I would suspect the red wire that feeds the light switch and then the switch itself.

My hazard lights and turn signals still works and the car still runs. There were some sparks coming from my map light when it blew but my map light didn’t have a bulb in it.

Definitely check for a loose connection at back of the map light. Sounds like something may have come loose and shorted out against the metal dash. You may want to disconnect the battery until you find the source of short/sparking.

Unplug the map light for now. The map light is powered by the fog light circuit which is also powered by the same fuse for the headlights. The good news is if it starts it is not the ammeter.

The 66-67 and 67.5 have the same layout so take a look at these.

Try this one. I updated the drawing. It now includes the fog and map light.

Welcome. So sorry for your loss. You’ve come to the right place for help and advice. Make sure to check out the vendor links and tech wiki for parts sources and alternatives. Consider starting a thread in members rides with some pictures of your ride.

So through a process of not reading carefully or paying close attention all this time I didn't realize the R16 SAE cam gear and metric cam gear are slightly different. So SAE gear with SAE cam. Anyone know why they did this?

My guess would be standardization, but I really don't know.

I see NOS of both types on Yahoo Japan time to time. But that is for those willing to pay a bit more than the US.

I believe that Gerardo and Dean both make reproduction Fairlady badges. Both the fender and the rear panel versions.

How do you remove the hood scoop trim? Sending my 2000 off to paint this weekend and need that removed with not damaging it (hopefully).

It just pulls off, it's a friction fit. There are small "clips" on the inside of the trim that you can't really see.

to remove hood trim, best to 'drift' it off with a wood drift - carefully.

the real danger is in reinstall - the edges at each end are likely to mar paint. suggest using tape at each end, and again take your time to 'drift' it on.
