Front shocks

Hi all,
Just in the process of replacing the front springs with a pair of datsun comps, and noticed my GR2 are worn. Thought with the greater spring rate that Comps provide of going to a somewhat more forgiving pair of shocks. Does any one know what make and model work?

So you bought those comp springs Sunday? Great Deal.
I have a set of shocks not listed but they fit pretty well. They are Monroe 20829. They are listed for fronts for one of the Chrysler vehicles. They provide a fairly stiff ride but fit well. $15.99 each at Kragen.

Your GR2's are worn? Can you define "worn"? How long ago did you install 'em? How much mileage have they seen?
Curious as I recently purchased GR2's (front & rears) from Summit.

Pete,
Not to worry, I have owned my car for nine years and these were in my car before I got it. No idea how many miles the PO put on them but there is a definite difference between the two in dampening. One is very soft and requires very little effort to push and pull out. Wanted to replace as a pair and looking for a less stiff shock for my comp springs. I'm sure the one just reached it's life cycle.

Thanks for the tip on Monroes, and the comp springs, will check them out and the price is very right.
It's nice to have a Videographer/Photographer amidst the SoCalRoc bunch as well. Enjoying the pics.

Just a note, the stiffer spring rate will require a stiffer valved shock as well. You see ricer guys bouncing their way down the road because they cut the springs, and didn't upgrade the shocks to damp the extra springrate. My vote, get a set of Konis (even if they are used, they never die). Set soft, they aren't bad.

Just put the Monroe's in mine with the Datsunsports springs. I think they suit the spring rate very well. Great ride and can't beat the price.
