There's nice thread with forum members listing what to bring on a long trip.

It's called: "Things to take on a long road trip"

It is definitely a great experience, my 550 miles trip in my Roadster from Napa to Culver City cemented my love for the car. I bought several extra fuel filters due to the nature of my car and Im glad I did, but other than that I had no bad experiences and got a nice tan too! haha

Car looks great, I cant wait until we can have a nice row of roadsters at the Supercar Sunday

Simon I just saw your thread about the trip back, reading through it's a great story and I love the writing style!
I have 1 extra fuel filter only, maybe I should pack a few more just in case...

These work great, easy to change frequently.

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Hello everyone!
I have finally picked up Ruby on Saturday and am currently on my way down to Los Angeles with my brother.

Greg the previous owner is an amazingly nice guy, it was great meeting him finally.

Ruby is gorgeous and drove faultlessly for the first 2 days as we travelled through the beautiful forests and coastlines. What a joy to drive her :)

Unfortunately last night while restarting her to go for dinner, she stalled at startup and I subsequently managed to flood her. After a few unsuccessful tries with Dave Premo on the phone for emergency help (another amazingly great guy), we decided to let her rest for the night and try in the morning.

This did the trick, she fired right up this morning but she immediately stalls at idle if I down hold the gas pedal down, and she shakes like crazy.

Talking to Greg and Dave as we speak to find a solution. I'm on my way to tap on the silver domes next to the carburators with a screwdriver handle to loosen a potentially stuck float.

I'll keep you guys updated and post pictures when I can!

SUCCESS! It was the float!
One more lesson learned today :)

Now the exhaust has some shaking noise of metal against metal, I guess all this engine shaking loosened up some bolts in there?

I'll check if I can tighten anything myself or use some wire to reduce the shake.

Ruby, I got your back.
