Hello from Edgewood/Pierce County WA

Post by AC77 »

I've been on here for a little bit and have gotten tons of useful information and great advice. I sort of fell into Datsun's. I was looking to go British and saw an add on CL for a Datsun Roadster. I fell in love with it right away. The car posted was a bit out of my price range, so I widened my search and found a 67 1600 in Boise, Idaho. I flew out with my wife, checked it out and got the deal done. My wife isn't as adventurous as me and wanted very badly to have it transported home. I wouldn't hear it and we attempted the drive. Made it 450 of the 550 miles before my heater core went bad and started spraying radiator fluid all over the inside of the passengers side floorboards. We really tried hard to make it the rest of the way, but traffic was at a stand still and I just couldn't keep her cool. After she arrived home, I ended up opting to replace all the hoses, replace the thermostat, upgraded to a 3 row aluminum radiator, install an electric fan with an adjustable temp switch, bypass the heater core and install Evan's High Performance Waterless coolant. I'm happy to say Boise is running cool as a cucumber. I've put 250 hard miles on it to be sure, in traffic, up hills, in the heat, etc. Just replaced the front and rear shocks and now I am out and about just having fun driving her around.

Excited to be part of the Datsun family :D

No clue on the wheels. I am fairly certain the PO added them after he bought it from the original owner. All in all it don't mind the look.
