H20 Distributor from Urvan

Post by Bungle »

Just running this by you guys before I order this - not quite sure if it looks right at the bottom...

Here's a picture of the H20 distributor from an Urvan...

Does it look like it'll fit the roadster?

It looks like it has a shorter shaft on the bottom than the roadster dizzy. The plate holding the adjustment is elongated to. I think you can swap out the lower shaft as well as the plate. You would think it would be a direct drop-in but it does not look like that is the case. Curious--how much is the dizzy?

It's a supplier called Nardek www.nardek.com.au

I emailed them and they said AUD$200 including postage to where I'm at.

Here's the pdf of their dizzy range: http://www.nardek.com.au/Distributors.pdf

It's a little pricey come to think of it. I Rallye do the real thing for $117 US for the stocker.

What about the petronix kit?

Oh! I get it now. You could probably still swap the lower drive shaft to keep the tach drive in place. That is pretty pricy for a distributor. My take on Petronix is they are very hard to set up correctly and are an add-on instead of a reliable modification. I am not too fond of the Crane XR series either but then that is just my opinion. The ulitmate is the Gary Boone EI conversion but those are not a cheap alternative but are a sound investment.

The pertronix was very easy to install. I needed a to add wire as they didn't reach my coil, and the cover that's supposed to go under the distributor cap didn't fit, but I never had any problems with it.
