Thanks for running this Joe! I just got my room and will be there late friday and all saturday. Unfortunately no roadster, but would still like to tag along on a fun run. I'll be at the Vineyard and the dinner, at the very least. I just ordered my shirts from Dave. See you then.

I'm trying to get my roadster reliable enough to make it to the Glen this year. Motor, carbs & electrical issues are slowly getting sorted out. I'm hoping to make it there & then pick a few brains to resolve any lingering problems.

Ed, not sure we have a fun run in the plan. Typically we do it on Saturday after the shown n shine but it conflicts with some of the desirable vintage races. If we do one, it will be ad hoc. Some of us know the roads pretty well.

There are a lot of knowledgable folks attending...and always happy to help. If you run into any trouble on the way down email me (get address from 311s) and I can likely get a crew together to help. I have a garage of parts in Rochester and a garage with tools in Penn Yan.

Michael, we've had some crazy breakdowns over the year and got them all fixed and driven home, all except Datsun 1500, he had to trailer home, rumor was he blew a tranny???

Like Dave said, we have fixed a good number of breakdowns, including having parts overnighted and getting speeding tickets on the way to pick them up. Questioning who tightened the lugs as we were driving at speed (and realizing no one did)

That being said, having the transmission come apart at 60 mph from the inside out was not a side of the road repair....

I will be racing the 240Z this year and if anyone runs into mechanical trouble I have a pretty extensive set of tools in my trailer at the track so keep that in mind. No spare parts this year since we are racing the Z, but tools we will have with us.

This explains why I can't find my rebuilt 1500 transmission

I have a photo of the gear oil puddle somewhere, but following my wife driving the 25ft box truck with the Uhaul car trailer behind it 20 miles over to the breakdown site was priceless. Most of the mailboxes have since been replaced along the route, trees are growing back nicely.

He just texted me last night that he will be attending the WG event , If you want i'll send him your contact info as there might be an opportunity for you to dive down with him.
Mike's been a Datsun specialist for over 30 years I think so he should know a thing or two
