Congratulations, the car looks beautiful! I just love the color. The only thing it needs, in my very humble opinion, is a 2000 grill. I'm not saying this to try and sell you mine (it's nice but not a perfect 10), but the 1600 one just doesn't do it for me on this car. My opinion, and only that, not taking away anything from this unique car.
Enjoy the ride!

I disagree Greg. I think a custom grill is in order...

Natalie in the Datsun for 311.jpg
This was my first Roadster, her name was Bumpy Car (named by my daughter in the car). I will probably go with a custom grill at some point but for now I just want to drive and enjoy driving a Datsun again! A perfect 10 is not as rewarding as driving. When I lost my first Datsun after having it for 25 years to the A hole drunk driver, it took a part of me that I thought I would never regain, but holy molie Mothra is more than I deserve in a car. I wouldn't trade her for all the cars in the world. My Daughter found Mothra for me in South Carolina. I never met the PO.

Installed my adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator this week into the SR20DE S14. Just in case someone out there is/was as dumb as I was, here is a drawing of how to plumb the darn thing. I can now actually turn off the engine and restart it when it is warmed up. I had too much pressure from my intank holley fuel pump and the car would flood. But not now! look out world, here I come!

Happy for you. I'm going to run a dead head returnless system w/higher psi, but I'm running different injectors and aftermarket ECU--hoping I don't have this problem.

I have a similar setup on mine using a Tomei fpr. My flex fuel sensor is in my return line.

So I went out today and parked for about 10 min and the car was still flooding. It only took one time to clear the gas but darn it... I got home and turned it off waited 10 min and it started right up. Now that I have a pressure gauge on my fuel pressure regulator I see that it drops off. I thought that it was suppose to hold the pressure after shut down. Any words of wisdom for me? Just so you know the world still needs to look out because I am on the road!

Could be a leaky injector. Pull the plugs and see if one of the plugs specifically is wet compared to the others. Hopefully that's the issue; then replace that injector.

I will look into it tomorrow at my friends shop. That is what I was thinking as well but what about the pressure drop after shut down?

That's what would happen if there is a leaky injector. Just like when your air compressor goes off and the air slowly bleeds out. While running the pump can more than keep up w/any leak and pressure is fine. But when you turn the car off, the pump no longer is providing the fuel, and w/the leak, the gas drains and pressure falls. Would also explain why you say the car is flooded. Are your injectors all stock? Did you send them out to cleaned/flow tested?

Mike:

Per your PM, I just checked my pressure with my Tomei gauge. I'm running about 48psi at idle (cold) and it drops to about 42 psi when I open the throttle.

I just changed my fuel filter last week and am running newly rebuilt 270cc (stock red) injectors. I have a set of 375cc (purple) that I may need for E85. I will test them during my dyno tune.

Check the orings on the injectors. It doesn't take much to bugger them up. Replace with quality, Nissan ones. Used di-electric silicone grease to lube them for ease of installation. FWIW Pat

Michael
If it does turn out to be an injectors, I have the stock ones from my Autech as I'm running Deatschworks EV14s. LMK.
