Early soft top frame
Is there an easy way to tell the difference between early and late soft top frames? My 67 came with a frame and soft top when I purchased it, but I'm having difficulty installing it. Looks like the supports at the door posts have had an additional hole drilled to lower the frame some. The latches are not on it, but may have been removed and put on the hard top, which also came with the car and fits kinda OK. At least it fits on and latches down. Any suggestions or advice?

Re: Early soft top frame
65 - 67.5 frames use two latches at the front. 68 - 70 have three. Also, the 68 - 70 have an adjustable rear bar.

Re: Early soft top frame
OK thanks,
It looks like I do indeed have an early frame, but man is it tight trying to get it down to the windshield. I'm afraid I'm going to tear the top or pull out the twisty / posties.

Re: Early soft top frame
You can adjust the height at the rear mounts so it is easier to install and then adjust the fit when you get the front mounts installed and snapped in place.

Good point Joe. That hadn't occurred to me. I'll try it tomorrow
