My first Datsun -- 1968 Roadster

Hi All,

Fell in love with the Datsun Roadster about 3 years ago and waited and waited to buy one. Finally bit the bullet and purchased a 1968 Roaster and before purchasing it. By no means is it turn-key, so I had a trusted mechanic take a look at it and he suggested an engine rebuild, re-sealing the rear differential, and rebuilding the carbs -- the transmission also makes a not-so-good sound when I go from second to third.

I live in Southern California where there seem to be a lot of Datsun restoration places / people. I was wondering if the group has any recommendations of people / places in the Los Angeles / San Fernando Valley area where I could theoretically get all this work done under one roof?

Welcome! Post some pictures! Lots of places to get your work done under one roof in SoCal! I'll let the locals chime in, but you are in a Roadster Mecca for parts and services.

Happy to be here -- a little intimidated with all the knowledge of the people around :)

Can take some pictures over the weekend and post on Monday!

Amol,
You can meet other owners at Supercar Sunday car meet 6100 Topanga Cyn Bl, Woodland Hills , Macy's parking lot, every Sunday 7-10. Bring your car or just show up. Good way to get info. Nice people. You see everything eventually there.
Then, Skip Miller of Miller Imports in Pasadena is an expert Datsun mechanic who can tell you exactly what you have.
Lastly, you can do some of the work yourself! Start small and work your way up if you are so inclined.
Great weather coming up, drive time! :)
