Talked with a friend in CA and sent him the pictures previously posted. His diagnosis is that I have a 4 speed cross member installed rather than the 5- speed cross member. He says it should drip the tail shaft at least an inch, reducing the steepness of the driveshaft. I'm using a Chevy urethane mount as described by Dave Brisco. Should have the correct cross member in the next day or two and I'll report on the difference it makes once I get it installed. Once again, thanks for the help guys!
