So, are all of the 68 - 70 dashes the same except for the vin plates? Would any late model dash be appropriate for my 70 SRL?

Thanks,

David

Cool. I just want to make sure I can get my 70 SRL car # back on the new dash. Car is matching numbers.

I've read the process on this post. How do I actually get this going?

Also, I contacted Just Dashes last week, and they quoted me $1,800 and 4 to 5 months. Does that sound right?

The 68 dash is different than the 69/70 dash in the area of the "B" light.

I didn't know that. What's the difference?

It certainly complicates the idea of pay it forward donor dash unless there is a spare 1970 out there.

Yes, Stan is correct. I found out that the "B" light sockets are different, as one is fixed to the dash and the bezel is removable, the other is a socket that is similar to the other dash bulb sockets, the wiring for the "B" light is different too. One uses the dash for a ground and the other has two wires going to the socket so must be grounded at a common harness ground. Which type are which years? I can not remember since it was many years ago, I just remember their differences. The 68 jockey box liners were also different than ones in the 69-70 dash.

Hi. Just following up on last conversation about the 68 dash being different than the 69/70.

I think I heard that the B light bezels and light are different, but is the dash itself different? OR same dash, just different bezzle and light fit in same hole?

What I mean is, are all the dashes the same, but you need to use the correct year B light and bezzle, so any late model dash year will work for any other late model, OR, OR, OR, are the 69/70 dashes actually different from the 68 dash? If different, we would need to differentiate for this program.

I am very much interested for my 70 SRL dash.

Can anyone answer this very specific question?

Thanks,
David

Yes, it is. This is what I was quoted about a month ago (I'm not going to do it for quite a while, but wanted to see costs):

Here is an approximate cost of your restoration (1970 2000):
$1,800 Molded Dash (w/Clock in Center) and Glove Box Door
$280 Radio Box 2 Piece
$750 Console & Lid (Send all metal trim pcs for fit and possible detail)
ADD $150-200 Detail metal trim pcs for console
