I'm going to mount a luggage rack to a spare trunk lid, It is the same type rack as most owners use. I don't have any hardware to put between the rack and paint. Just wondering what others have used or what should be there. Rubber or Plastic?
Plus, any measurements from the back edge of trunk to the drill holes would be helpfull.... Thanks ahead of time... Bill

my luggage rack has little rubber feet on it to protect the paint, but it's probably not a big issue either way as the holes in your trunklid will prevent you from running without a rack.

I can measure this weekend, but if I remember right, there was really a limited area where the rack could be mounted to clear the weather-strip channel and the brace. good luck!
