Greetings from Hong Kong!

Post by PorkerNW »

Hi all

By way of introduction my name is Nelson, a petrolhead based in Hong Kong. Just thought that SR311 has grown on me more and more and thought I should sign up to learn more from you guys. Hope to meet some of you some time in future!

Thought of acquiring one but honestly I have not a lot of info / insights as to how difficult it is to purchase / upkeep a solid one. Prefer one with 2000 cc engine and 5 MT. Grateful for any thoughts on where to start and/or a roadmap of what to look for / what to avoid etc.!

Cheers,

Nelson

Welcome Nelson! I believe you would be our first member from Hong Kong that's pretty cool. I think the best thing you can do is read through as much of this forum as you can absorb and see what other members have to offer for suggestions. The only simple advice I can give is that you buy the best you can afford.

Welcome Nelson, if you start with a solid car, mechanically and structurally, the upkeep is easy. Roadsters are easy to work on, with good accessibility. Change fluids, keep things clean and well greased and in my experiece, the car will be very reliable. Some Parts can be a bit pricey, but there is a good supply of used and very well done new reproduction parts available in the states and in Australia.
