Dash knob question

Can someone please tell me what his dash knob is for and how to remove it? I removed the two small nuts from the back and can't figure out if the knob comes off the shaft or what to get it off the dashboard. Thanks.

That is your trip odometer roll back knob. It should pull right off and then it will come out from behind the dash. There should also be a short cable attached to it and the other end to the speedometer housing... Bill
