Greetings: I am a new member! I bought a 68 2000 about 10 years ago. I enjoyed it soo much! About 5 yrs ago I had the Body done and wrecked it the very weekend I got it back. That really sucked. I felt as if I were responsible for the death of a rare animal. To fill the void of a lost love one, I went on the hunt for a replacement. At long last I found a new love. What I found was (unbeknownsth to the seller) a 67.5 SRL311 #423. WOW! Made me real happy. I'll post a pic. as soon as I get a chance. I have timing chain tensioner issues right now (see tec forum) so I probably won't make it to the Shasta run this year like I wanted. Maybe I'll make it next year and meet all o' yall. Well, just thuoght i'd introduce you to my 311. See ya!

Congratulations on the acquisition of the 67.5! Lots of folks lust for them - I did and now have 2. If I could just get the time to get them on the road......

Congratulations on your find. I helped find #215 for a friend of mine. As far as the timing issues are concerned, if the tensioners and guides are in good shape, just replace the chains. If the gears are a little worn, you can still get away with it (if they are really worn, replace them.
good luck,
Will
Congrats

Congrats on finding the car! I remember when I was looking for a 67.5 2000 I was searching for one listed on DATSUN.ORG that was advertised for sale but had no contact information. I was afraid that someone else would find it before I did. I was lucky enough to locate the P.O., but unlike your situation, this P.O. was fully aware of the significance of the 67.5 2000. It did not really matter as I bought the car anyway.
I hope to see a pic of the car in the registry soon!
