Greetings all,
A Little late but better than never, First and foremost the highlight of the VSCDA race at BlackHawk Farms was meeting Bill Wessel and his son Joe, Bill I really appreciated you coming to the races.
For a race report there's not a whole lot to tell, I was bumped up a class(yikes) and rather than grouse about it I thought it would be a great way to tell if the car was on track with the developement I've done.
First qualified 17th out of 34 cars really some fast mgb's in the field and a couple of speedy porsches. If any of you ever go to BHF BRING BRAKES!!!!!!!!! I had used the pads and shoes on my car for nearly a whole season...burned them up in two sessions. greatfully brought spares.
I didn't think this was too bad ran a 1.29 Bill thought it was all right getting under a 1.30.
The first race I went out 17th and ran up to 14th really the car outhandled some of the faster cars.
The final feature race started 14th and finished 10th and 6th in class put it on the trailer healthy and ready to go to MID O
At Mid Ohio(thats spelled the racetrack GOD made) I love this place!!!
I qualified 13th oh boy what an omen when the feature come around and we took the checker jumped to eight and worked my way around a psrite to get 7th on lap 4 I looped the car in the carousel and lost two places ...crap back to 9th spent the rest of the race chasing the two cars that passed me picked off the bugeye sprite but time ran out before I could get the other car. So I finished 8th overall and 3rd in class. Not bad for two 40 somethings (me and the car)
The highlight of that weekend was meeting John Morton who was gracious enough to autograph my car and spend some time talking to another roadster driver.
Look forward to next year and better results
