Looking for a good CAD or Yellow zinc dichromate shop

As the title says. I have used Old School Plating for CAD and Yellowzincplating for zinc dichromate. Both were very good but I believe Old School no longer exists and I just found out Yellowzincplating is not taking orders for some reason. Anybody know of a good shop? Google did not turn up much at all.

Regards,
Steve

Plymouth Plating in Plymouth MI
http://plymouthplating.com/
(734) 453-1560

Their turnaround time is less than week in most instances. I have been taking stuff to them for a couple of years now. Fast work, GREAT product and it looks fantastic.

They do cad and zinc plating in all different colors. I take stuff there and a week later I pick it. I have been doing CAD for my BMW motorcycles but have seen the zinc plating. Great prices and a great product.

I thought I'd share this link to a video I came across.
Most of the work appears to be in the zinc plating process, but at the end he says if you have that already has a good zinc coating, you can just dip it into the dichromate mix (apparently not as nasty as it sounds) and get the cad coloring.

This thread seemed to be a logical place to tack this on to.

I’ve done the home playing with ok results. I do better with just straight zinc without the chromate. I know it’s a bit far away but all of the parts that I have had done by sav-on plating in phoenix has come out very well.

Well this looks interesting for you DIY'ers. Relatively cheap Zinc plating kit. It looks like the Zinc Anode plates that come with it are grey, but I see different colored ones as well on Amazon. The Beaker is only one Pint but most all bolts, latches and cover plates needing replating could fit in there. Various colors of Chromate solution are available directly from Caswell's website as well. Larger size kits are also available.

A few practice bolts would be in order, then have at it.

The Caswell system combined with the dichromate solutions mentioned earlier is pretty easy to do at home and provides nice results. I have done small bits and pieces and they look ok. Out in the sun they get that nice rainbow look, in low light look a little flat.

I've been using these guys for a few years. Very nice work. I prep and polish (glass bead then wire wheel) all of my pieces so the surfaces are smooth and I get great results
