Early vs Late model SU Carb Gas Lines

Post by drummerdood »

Hi,

I purchased an earlier model year set of rebuilt SU's to install on my '68 1600. Is there any performance difference between the gas line routing in picture 1 vs picture 2?

Thanks!!

Assuming all else in good working order, no.

The bottom routing looks neater with less of a fire risk in case the line springs a leak. Bottom pic has the return valve too for vapor lock.
I vote #2.

I agree, straighter hoses, less junctions and if you have the return line, may as well use it.

I don't have a return line, so I prefer the early
