Two Trunks Lids!

Post by Kendall124 »

One with the luggage rack, one without. Yes, this has been done before. I've got to quit reading all the cool ideas on this site. You guys and gals are costing me a fortune!
Found a good condition trunk lid on eBay. Sent it to my guys at Retro Rods. They had to rebuild it but it came out great. I'll now use that one as my daily trunk lid. The old one had the holes re-drilled for the dealer option luggage rack. The original trunk lid had it holes filled in back when the paint work was done. It was never quite right. It really shows on the last pic. I think it's reinforcing was a little separated too. It "oil cans" pretty easy. So it'll hang on the wall until the girlfriend wants to take some long weekends. As you all know, we run out of space quick!
Have a look.

Gauges and steering box next.

It's bad a**. Raced an Audi A4 up Hwy 522 yesterday. He stayed in front but I was with him the whole way. We paired up at the light at Paridise Lake Road, he rolled his window down and said "what the hell is in that thing?!?!"
It's just an old Datsun ;)

After saying trunk lids schmunk lids 4 years ago, now I want to know--any dimensions for the drill holes or did you just as evenly as possible center it around all four side? I'm getting ready to get my spare for traveling done w/a luggage rack. If you have a picture on the back side of the trunk lid where your bolt holes came through I'd love to see it. Thanks!

And of course, always love to hear how the SR20 power is coming!
