Hi all,
New guy here. I'm picking up a '69 1600 on Saturday. I haven't seen the car in person yet, but it appears to be a solid, complete, dry, albeit kinda ratty Southwest car. It hasn't ran in 19 years, and is effectively a "barn find".
Pretty excited to own another Datsun. I've owned three 311's and two 510's, but it has been at least 20 years since I've had a Datsun in the garage. I've been pretty much a VW guy most of my life as well, and currently own a '69 beetle, a '73 class11 race car(work in progress), a '70 vert(pretty trashed), and a '69 chassied Bradley GT.
I wasn't looking for another Datsun, but knew I had to have this one the moment I saw it. Hoping to get it mechanically right and drive it 'ratrod' style for a while, and eventually do a full resto, but I'm in no hurry.
Looking forward to bombarding you guys with questions, and posting some pics as soon as I take possession. Stay tuned for more...
