Hello all,
I have a spare late fuel pump which appears to have screws which are M5x.9 instead of the more common M5x.8 One screw hole is stripped so looking for actual correct size in order to fix. M5x.9 is not supposed to be available much these days.
Can anyone check the screw size on their late pump if they have one handy? The late aftermarket pumps might be different too.

Linda
Maybe this is a question for Dynaguy, he knows the fastener business..

Linda,

.8 pitch is standard for a 5mm screw, .9 would definitely be an oddball. You might see if it is a 10-32 SAE screw instead. They are very close. FWIW Pat

If the screws are slotted fillister head screws, then I believe that they are standard thread

No these are Phillips head screws.
They are not 10-32.
They measure .191 in

I noticed a difference in the size of the inlet pipe on pumps. I believe the larger size would be for a 2000. Would the larger size work well with the 1600?
I guess too if you had a 2000 and had the smaller pipe, I wonder if flow would be affected?
Also are the valves the same for both pumps? I saw a couple of valves with the number 4 on them while another pair had nothing.
