Recommendation is to learn how to assess per the knowlegeable people on here, then jump on a good car when ready. If you post it here it can get bought up by someone else. But of course, that is capitalism :)

There is a nice long thread on what is correct for a 67.5 2000 that would be a good start.
Also the model guide at Datsun.org is nice with picture and our WIKI also has a Model Guide.

IMHO,
The main safety feature is the dual braking system, which can be added in a couple of different ways, but not easily or cheaply.
Lots of little and or big changes....there should be a thread.

I saw one post on BaT that read: "...the 67.5 are the last of the low windshield flat dash cars. There were numerous minor changes over the 67s due to federal regulations. The most obvious is that the chrome disappeared inside. I don’t see any real significance to the 67.5 1600s, but in 67.5, the 2000 was introduced ..."

So this comment has me wondering what exactly ARE the differences between a 67 1600 and a 67.5 1600?

Brian
Hey Brian - Those were my comments on BAT. Regarding the production, I believe you read it wrong. There were roughly 10,000 1600s made between 65 and 67, and another 4,300 for 67.5. As for the differences between the 67 and 67.5, check out the following link from Rallye:

I think the washer nozzle is special and it has the larger hood scoop also.

Thank you for the detailed responses. A few of those I read here and there, but this is great to have so much listed in one place!

I have been off for a while, but noticed that car in my first post has sold, at $14k.

With what I am learning, I think a good and fair transaction. I would have been happy at that price, if an inspection in person confirmed what appears in the photos.

I hope one like that comes along when I'm ready.
