Congratulations, and now for the free advice. Get it home, make it safe, and drive it. Don't tear it apart, don't start doing upgrades, don't work on making it nice, just drive it. Learn the car, determine it's strengths and weaknesses. Things that you are sure that you want to change, may not be an issue after driving it a while. Lots of guys are sold on the idea of needing more horsepower, more gears, more, more, more. A well sorted 1600 is hella fun. Yes a 2000 is quicker, but at a cost. It is also more finicky, and expensive. After you have driven the car for a while, work on the things that are the biggest issues for you and just work on it one bite at a time.

Great advice..first think I need to fix and/or overhaul the brake system before I can drive it. Thanks.
