I have replaced all the posties and twisties for the new top but I can't remember if, at the front of the doors, under the windwing, there is a posty or a twisty??? Should have taken a photo of that but didn't.
Any help?

Postie. I remember so clearly from 1972 when I sold it.

Yes, and that front postie is so much fun to install too, I think I used sewing thread to get the nut on...

No access to get my big hands inside the door to put on the nut, so I tied thread to threaded side of postie then slide the nut down the thread until it was in place then started it with my fingertip. Tedious.. Paul

That's how I did a few.

Is there not room to saw a hole to enable the use of a nut driver?

I suppose, though I doubt I have a driver that small. Probably the tiniest hardware on the car

There is a relatively easy to install the posties next to the vent window. I figured it out after my fat fingers couldn't do it the seemingly conventional way.
The first thing is to start out with genuine Nissan posties. The threaded stud actually threads into the postie head. Unscrew the postie stud from the head and install the nut and metal washers on the stud. Put the stud through the hole in the door from the inside of the door. Put the nylon washer over the stud from the outside and then screw the head on the stud. Tighten the head and nut and you are done.
This method will not work for some cheap aftermarket parts.

I was able to get both posties next to the vent windows.
I got the right size box wrench for the nut, Used some duct tape to hold the nut from the back to keep it from falling out and then reached through the door to line the nut up in place visually. I then threaded the postie into its nut to get it started and finished tightening down with a socket wrench.
Yes, it sucked but I wasn't relying on holding the nut in place with my fat fingers

I did the same thing except I put a strong magnet on the wrench so it could hold the two washers

My little trick put the post in the door, then take the first washer, a flat washer put a little grease on it stick it to your finger reach up you'll feel the tip of the post set the washer on and pull down. The washer is held on by the grease, next get the lock washer, do the same process. Finally step take the nut put it on the tip of you finger with a little grease put in place twist the post till it catches a thread turn till you are confident you can pull out and then use a wrench to finish tightening it.
