Those are what I run. Some run the -11 version with the more extended nose but in my higher compression engine they seemed to cause more ping.

Not a problem. Carb parts are not very heavy. His plugs actually looked good. He was having an occasional stumble on a hard turn. We were checking the float levels and other carb things. One float was a little bit low. Since it only happened every once and a while it might take some time to figure out if it fixed the problem or not.

Damn, never thought of that. I need to try some standard plugs now!

Is there any difference between
NGK BPR6ES & NGK BR6ES spark plugs?
I have 8 new BR6ES in NOS but everything on the forum shows the BPR6ES as the preferred plug.

The "P" stands for projected insulator and center electrode. Some people claim that the P-version gets the spark closer to the center of the cylinder, resulting in better ignition. You can use either. The NGK website actually specifies the BR6ES for the 1600 engine, and the BPR6ES for the U20. Either one will work.

I prefer the BR6ES as they are less likely to make my higher compression engine ping.

I should get some of those. looks like I've got something pretty different.

Not sure what's different with the BP6EY but doesn't seem like the preferred choice.

Y - v-grooved center electrode with extra projection.

Yes, sorry for the misinformation. It is the P in the BPR6ES that is the problem for my engine... projecting the nose actually seems to change ignition timing slightly. It makes my engine ping.
