We are stoked to be a part of the Touge California rally. This year the event is sponsored by Mazda NA and hosted by Japanese Nostalgic Car.

The event is in Southern California, and we are up here in San Jose. Wish me luck on our arrival and completion of the rally...1100 miles later hopefully I will have a report for all :D

Last year's event was fantastic---I'm sad I missed it and you can see it here:

Mazda will be running several of the heritage collection cars!

Looks like some familiar roads were driven last year.I recognized quite a few, including The Snake.

Started at 10am and the dinner/collection tour at Mazda ended at close to 10:30pm. It wasn't non stop driving, fair amount of checkpoint stops to let everyone catch up. It was a little over 200 mile of driving roughly from Escondido to Julian to Mt Palomar then up to Lake Elsinore and over the Ortega hwy to the PCH before heading into Irvine. Put almost 1200 miles on the little Subie door to door @ 34MPG average!

I expect the media will have lots of cool rolling shots soon. Roadsters are already making the front page :D

Lots of great pictures - thanks! Patrick is a neighbor and invited me to attend, but I was out of town. He didn't say anything about a sports coat/English flat cap requirement though...

Cool event! A bit of nostalgia for me as our family had a Mazda Luce like one pictured in Mazda garage except it was a 4 door. First car I drove for my license in Okinawa. 1500cc with 3 on a tree.

Thanks Alvin, that is a cool video and congrats to both yourself and Mark, loving the funky factor on that Subie.

I hear ya on the Nissan shout-out, how can a corporate branding department be so blind to a significant history they could draw on, and continue to field such stale/blasé "carved soap bar" designs. It just does not figure.
