Different carbs models?

Post by Jorge022770 »

Guys, I was looking at Conner web link and noticed in a pic that his carbs have the float chambers facing each other....the front carb facing the firewall & the rear carb's facing the front of the car.

I don't recall ever seeing any pics of that. All I know are the carbs with float chambers towards the front. Now Andy ("Conner") and I are wondering what's the deal with the carbs variations.....any takers?

2L SU carbs are "innies" - the float bowls face each other.

Interesting.
I've also seen "outies," maybe on a z-Car or a 510.

I don't know about the dimes, but the 240Z had outboard float bowls. I have seen photos of a cobbled up modification to put them on a 2000, so it can be done. Looked a little awkward to me though.
