Re: 1963 fairlady
So after talking with my lady. She kind of wants to push this thing to make Medford cruise, which is generally Father's day weekend.
So i should get a little more serious.
I really hate to be "that guy" but for sake of thousands of hours of internet searches/reading.
Maybe you guys can steer me towards:
Top three vendors for 1500 or obscure parts.
Tire, thinking just using Coker tire so i can get correct size/whitewall 5.60x13..... I can mount/balance.
Any subtle tumbling blocks i may encounter/miss.
I am a tech by trade, so i am well versed. We all know each car has its own nuances.
And much thanks

Re: 1963 fairlady
If you are going for the "correct" 1963 1500 tire look , WIDE whitewalls were OEM for that year.
Narrow whitewall tires were OEM on the 64 1500.
Inexpensive 155/80R13 radial narrow whitewalls (very close to the original non radial sizing) are available on Ebay.

Yes. Really would like to take it back to as OG as possible, without having to sell a kidney or something. Lol

Re: 1963 fairlady
So digging through some websites today, i figured out that i accidentally tossed my parking brake handle boot. Remember thinking what a random piece this is.... It was pretty ratty i guess or wouldn't ha been tossed.
So one more need. :/

Re: 1963 fairlady
Check the vendors link but otherwise rallye, datsun parts.com, datsun roadster parts.com to name a few.
Im pretty sure rallye has a correct fuel pump.
It might be cheaper using a kidney to restore to stock lol.
Getting it done by fathers day is pretty ambitious but sounds like you kinda know what to expect. Good luck to you! Keep asking questions and we will try to help.
Ive got distributor cap and rotor f/s if you need.

Seems that the 63 1500 are using 2 different washer bottles.gnob wrote:The owners were really neat people. The woman's mother had bought the car new. Sounded, and looks like, she took great care of the car. The original owner passed and the car was passed on. There it sat in the garage for nearly 20 years. The current owners started a resto but were in the middle of a house sale and weren't going to have room.
Here are the pics they sent me originally.
This one has a rectangular and the white 1500 #3 or #5 (free resto project, can't find it anymore on the forum) had a round one if I'm not mistaken.

Spoke to owner, said they hadn't changed it. With the vin, its towards end of MY.
Here is another single carb, its a RHD but shows a rectangular bottle.

Re: 1963 fairlady
I know there are some more PNW guys out there.
I was kind of hoping id get the Cali black plates with the car but they weren't there
So still wanting to stay period, id like to find some Pacific Wonderland plate(s). Id only need one as ill tag this one SP.
So just for some content. Cool plate factoids.

Lol. One of my favorite things is checking out random stuff behind the scenes in pics .C.Costine wrote:Ok on the cars and truck but what is the TRACTOR?
Thst tractor belongs to the previous owners, they had several acres. I didn't pay much attention as the roadster was sucking up all my attention.

My roadster languished for about nine years due to tractor projects but it is on the front burner now.

The Matrix is funny. Previous owners ended up finding the cali blacks.

Re: 1963 fairlady
Ok.
I almost have the garage clean enough to start tearing on my Lady.
This a parts list
New-datsunparts.com
1. Fuel pump
2. Hood bumpers
Datsumparts.com
1. Carpet kit
2. Interior vinyl and trunk
3. Rubber kit. Firewall etc
4. Window scrapers
5. Windshield wipers.
Going to get the 5.60x13 Firestone wide whites from summit (Coker tires)
Going to use appropriate size AGM battery as well.
Still waiting on a few used parts here and there. Sid? :p
Any suggestions?

Re: 1963 fairlady
Finally got garage squared away enough to make the datsun center stage.
Did order some parts. My new phat whitewalls tried to get sent to my old house, so maybe by the end of the week. Got an NOS choke cable assembly and stocker positive ground radio from Sid. Hopefully ordering my interior and rubber parts tomorrow.
And after the weather warmed up i was finally able to fit the canvas tonneau. Unfortunately not before i tore the rain flap a bit.
