BUT, we are not done yet.
The WIKI guide needs more detailed review to verify the data and pictures.
Also here are some aspects that need further verification, info and pictures.
I will also post this in the Wiki guide thread so, sorry if you see it twice.

1. The 5 speed transmission center case had ribs added to it at some point in the run.
Do we know at what car # this occurred?

No, but it is not far from when the Warner synchros were installed - which was sometime during the high windshield period.

2. Syncro fitment. Servo or Warner? Is there some order to this variation?. One type first? At what car #?

ALL low windshield 2000s should have Servo.

3. Cam cover surface. The OEM cover was natural grey aluminium and smooth.
Not polished or painted. Is this correct?. Later 68 covers had a more rough, brushed surface?

Natural finish.

4. The Gauge change from silver color to black on the needle button occurred at approximately what car #?
Is it around car #200 or later around #500?

237 has silver centers. I think it was later - 500ish.

5. Expansion of the Rear quarter panel section in the guide
Rear fender bottom seam where it attaches to the body is a pinch or flat seam and is in the middle or inboard edge.
A prior forum thread indicated the seam was flat up to about car #200. The seam was moved from inboard to the middle at some time.
Anyone have further information?. Seam pictures would be helpful.
Any timeline or car # for these changes?

6. The parts book specifies a Mitsubishi voltage regulator (true?) but the picture is of a Hitachi regulator.
Send a picture of the proper OEM Mitsubishi regulator.

The ones that I have had were Mitsubishi - and they had a plastic cover, not metal iirc.

THANKS,
Ted.

THANKS, Sid.

So all 67 2000 5 speeds had SERVO syncros and the case without the ribs.
Then a ribbed case 5 speed in a 67 2000 is not stock and may have servo or Warner syncros.

I hope Jon will respond on the gauge/car # question.

Were 68-70 2000 cam covers a different texture/finish than 67 2000?

I thought the voltage regulators had metal covers. Any other info/data on this?

Thanks,
Ted.

To my understanding, the waffle case reinforcing is the later and the zig zag is early.

I don't think that the finish was different on the cam covers.

Send a picture of the proper OEM Mitsubishi regulator.

THANKS,
Ted.
I found a Mitsubishi voltage regulator in my pile. It looks right, but has P/N RL-2B5 instead of the P/Ns listed below.
I will send the picture to Steve if you think it is correct.

Image

from the Techwiki 67.5 guide:
The 1967 2000 would have been initially fitted with a Mitsubishi model RL-2220B5 voltage regulator (Nissan part no. 23500-14603). The SPL was fitted with Mitsubishi model RL-2B3 at the time. Presently an interchange part covers both vehicles (Nissan part no. 23500-L2910). The regulator’s cover on both the 67 2L and the 67.5 SPL will bear the Mitsubishi name, the three-leaf Mitsubishi emblem and the trade mark “Prestolite”; it will also have chamfered edges and it affixes to the regulator’s base with 4 cross-head screws. The 67 2L’s regulator’s cover will be plastic with 2 molded struts along each of the upper and lower horizontal edges of its base. The cover of the 67.5 SPL will be metal, painted black, and will be without the 4 struts present on the plastic 67 2L cover.

Great thread and very helpful as I complete the restoration of car #275.

I didn't scan through all of the text in here but the other 67/67.5 specific thing is the 4 1/2" wheels.

Cheers
