New Roadster Owner!

Post by Joe_Car_Guy »

Hello fellow Roadster owners and car enthusiasts,
My name is Joe I am 16 years old and live in the CA.Bay Area. I first caught the "Roadster Bug" after my good friend along with my Dad taught me how to drive a stick in his '68 2000. After getting my license in mid. October the hunt was on! My father ( another car nut) and I traveled to all reaches of the Bay Area in search of "The One". We saw all manner of cars from all years. Speaking with all sorts of interesting people each with their own stories of their beloved Roadster. Two weeks ago we found our car. We are now the proud custodians of a 1969 2000 Roadster. The car is well sorted, with bright yellow paint. My Dad and I are looking forward to enjoying this car on weekends and attending Cars and Coffee events. So glad that to have stumbled upon the 311S forum and hearing all about other enthusiasts Roadster exploits.
Sincerely,
Joe_Car_Guy

Love to see the next generation getting involved in the cars. A much different experience than driving a generic Honda! Welcome!

Thank you everyone for the kind words! Looking forward to attending Fun Runs in the future, and getting involved in the Roadster hobby. I will post some more photos as soon as I get some time to take it out for a drive. You are right Dano, we bought the car from a man in Berkley, the car was originally sold from Berkley Datsun in '69. We still have the dealer plate that reads, " Another Datsun Sold!" Yes Alvin, Dave_Car_Guy is the instigator of the "Datsun Bug" it was in his 2000 that I learned stick! Thanks again everyone for the words of encouragement!

Damn, kid! You are blessed. Most roadster owners wont let an adult (who knows how to drive a stick) drive their beloved roadster. And you got someone to teach you on a 69 2000????
You are one lucky kid.
congrats and welcome.
