Hello everyone!

My wife and I are in the process of a complete restoration of our 1967 1600. Her dad bought it new, so it's been in the family for quite a while. He gave it to her last fall, and we've been working on it since. It had been stored for about 25 years, and had been partially disassembled for a paint job. We got most of the parts, but some of the little pieces have disappeared. It was pretty rust free, but the trunk pan was bad, and both of the rear quarters were rusty and banged up.


This is what looked like when we got it.

We had the body and frame stripped and e-coated, and rebuilt the engine.


Here is a more recent shot, this was when we got the body back from the body shop. We had all of the body work and paint done. We've taken the fenders, hood, doors and trunk lid back off while we're putting the rest back together.

Thanks! Yeah, it's a nice shop. The previous owners had erected the building, but it was just a shell when we bought it. It's pretty well set up, but if I had the chance I'd make a minor change with where I placed the lift.

I had planned on doing a Jeep restoration, but when my father in law offered the Datsun to us, it moved to the front of the project line! So, I convinced my wife we had to have a lift

Auto Parts Machine in Ann Arbor did the machine work, and I did the rest myself.

Thanks, yeah we're having a lot of fun with the project, and then we'll be able to enjoy using it someday.

But I could have built a couple of jeeps for what we're going to have into the Datsun! It'll be worth it though.
