I don't see Datsun Roadsters come up at auction very much, but this looks like a pretty nice car and maybe someone who is interested might want to raise their paddle for this one:

What is even more cool is the link to the story in Hemmings about the 1961 SPL213 - an interesting read.

If anyone decides to go I would be curious to see what the car goes for.

Thanks!

This is the same car that sold on 8 October for $10,800 in the Bay Area. I wonder why He's ditching it after 3 weeks of ownership.

I used to own that SPL213 :)

After it was sold, it eventually made its way to a Museum in the Socal Area.

Yeah, that's my cousin Wally driving it in the photo. Painfully small world sometimes...

It's now listed as a 67 also. Something smells funny.

You would think they would at least take the twist out of the front bumper.

Another flipper hits the dust......LOL

Sounds like a flipper to me. No one hands over 10k lightly, and I cant imagine something showing up on the car to make them "have to" get rid of it.

Hemmings is a step up from Bat as far as the buyers it attracts......so yeah. I think flipper.

The 1961 SPL213 being referred to is not the car for Sale...There is just a link to an article written by Hemmings about a SPL213 that I used to own, that later James' Cousin owned..

Indeed very small world.

It's not in a Hemmings Auction...it's in McCormick's in Palm Springs.
