The trucklites mount a little forward of the stock position and give a different look. Not every everyone likes the look but heck most have issues with my car's colour.

Other than the rear decals and alabama plates looks very similar similar to Ted's fine prize winner too? I'm betting they are one and the same though

One advantage to a great and not so common color ... you won't mistakenly head to a look-alike in the parking lot, we see these everywhere ....

I think I'll make one up for a 68 just to see how it turns out. I already made up the 66-67.5 to see how it would turn out.

If you get one made up for a '68, let me know the cost and I'll buy it Curtis.

Will do. I just downloaded a good picture of the relays on a 68. Using the two mounting holes I can put the fuse to the firewall side and the relays to the front.

Take a look at these two options.

Option 2 is better for direct feed and brighter headlights I think. And the relays can be purchased anywhere.

And both are completely reversible.

Edit: Fixed a drawing error in the option 1 drawing.

I like option two better. As you say, it provides power direcly to the headlight harness.
Option one is a thing of beauty in that it seems simple (almost always better) to install, plug the harness into a single point, ground 1 wire and you're done, hard to beat and with a little effort almost invisible.
Still, the original concern is powering higher powered lights so, keeping that goal foremost, I'd pursue option 2.

If you can make a stealth install, I am sure that there would be a market for that.

Option 1 is a stealth install. It is in the driver foot well. To make it more direct I would just route the power wire in to foot well from the starter harness intercept.

That would work and the addition of the second group of plugs to pull power from the starter harness would still make it pretty much plug and play. Poke it into the footwell and would be hard to see.

Like this? Only thing you will see if you go looking for it is the plug hooked in to the starter harness, a wire which I would put in a black PVC sleeve and if you feel like crawling under the dash the second relay, connectors, and a fuse. All removable.

That would work and be easy to install.
I got a starter harness from you (very nice, factory conncetors and stout wires).
Since the starter harness is subject to so much degradation, would it be worth it to modify the factory design and replacing the replacement harnesses to accomodate this wouldn't be worth while. Assuming many harnesses need to be replaced anyway, modifying the factory design to provide for direct power to the lighting system would eliminate the need to plug into the system and be even more stealthy.
