An option for boots and bump stops. Excuse the grease. This was taken just after assembly and before compression.
Here's a link to more pics.

If you'd like a set email me and I'll give you info.

Looks interesting, what's the info?
BTW-Your spring is upside down, the car will handle really poorly with it pushing the wrong way...TR

I checked a couple of vendor sites and all I found was $12-30 each. Just happened upon these urethane boots and took some measurements and they fit. I also didn't want to cut my stock bump stops. Price was right. Boots $1.50 each. Stops $4.50.
Does it really matter if a spring is upside down? I'm taking them out anyway. I forgot to reinstall the insulator.

The insulator will keep the spring from chattering/rattling.
The spring orientation doesn't matter, I was trying to be funny! TR

www.suspension.com
Using their measurements I ordered:
upper ball joints and tie rods #9-13105
lower ball joints #9-13119
bump stops #9-9103
they come in red, blue, yellow, and black.

The company I purchased from is Suspension Restoration Parts Co.
http://www.suspension.com/ .
They are in Modesto. (209) 578-5101. I called to place my order. They list a lot of stuff on their website as fitting the Z's and many other nissans.
I went to the Energy Suspension website to figure out how to measure the ball joint to pick the right part. Here is the link to their measuring page.
http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/tie_r.html
The part numbers I ordered were:
Lower ball joints- 9-13119 (they come in a set of 2. $3)
Upper Ball joints- 9-13105 (they come in a set of 2. $3)
Tie rods 9-13105 (same as above) after taking it all apart I noticed the other 4 (or more) steering boots . This number would probably work for those also.
Bump stops 9-9103 (2 per set. $9)
Shipping $4.25
I know they also came in blue and yellow. The energy suspension website says they come in black.

With the springs in the reverse position, is it necessary to engage the "S Brakes", or will they work with normal brakes?

I found out this week that OEM rubber front coil spring isolators ($3.04 each from Nissan) are NLA at this time. So I took some measurements and ordered a universal polyurethane isolator application from ES, and it seems to be very close to the original's dimensions.
The Energy Suspension part number for this is 9-6114G (or R for red

) and Suspension Restoration carries them for $9 for the pair. Not as cheap as stock, but pretty reasonable.

Since my engine swap resulted in a heavier front end weight, what heavy-duty spring would you all recommend?
Part number?
Source?
Thanks.

The Nismo spring currently avail. was very stiff in my car, I think the "Fordified" car with the V8 is running those. How much heavier is that engine? The stock motors were pretty heavy already!

1600s are about 340 lbs. Not sure about U20s.

How does the stock engine weight compare to the popular swap engines, SR20 etc?

Ron,
Did you dissassemble your front end just to replace the boots, or was there more involved? Time to do the job? Did you have the front end realigned?
I'm asking because almost all my boots are shot, but I'm afraid to dissassemble my front end and discover how many expensive parts need replacing.
Thanks.
