Wish there were a way to randomize the list order for each viewer.
Based on past polls this should get about 25% participation of the views
Some of you are torn between multiple wheels so you can pick 2

I fell in love with my Cosmics, and lucked out when my best friend and machinist, upon learning of my desire to possess a set, went up into his loft and came down with a set of 15" (! Unheard of!) Cosmics from the late 60-s early '70s I believe. What was funny is that EVERY ONE leaked air due to a bad casting spot on the wheel... right where it says "Made in England!" How ironic! A little JB weld sealed them up fine.

They are $$$$, but I've always liked the Volk Racing TE 37's. Simple and clean, but the kicker is they are only about 8 lbs each in the 15 x 6" size..... :D

For roadster, the Volk te37 'v' model fits better, at least in my opinion..

About the weight, I reached in the box and picked the first wheel up with both hands.. Almost immediately let go with one of them.. They are so light without tires it's stunning..

I don't care which one you choose, just make sure they have CENTER CAPS.
I can't stand the look of the open hub - why spend so much money on wheels and tires only to leave them unfinished? In my opinion the steelies with hubcaps look better than anything with an exposed bearing cap.
Apologies to those who like the exposed center caps.
Rant ended.

+ 1/2 on the cap less wheels, somehow RCMIKE's just seem to fit the nature of his build!

I had a set of those on one of my Lotus'....they are amazingly light and strong. The downside (not sure how they are with Datsun specs) was the 6-8 month wait time when ordering a set.

Sounds like a challenge! Anybody got any leads? Didn't they used to have a "bullet" shaped cap?

Maybe keep an eye on: http://www.zparts.com/ads/wheels/caps/caps1.html
Also I searched E-Bay, with Center Caps, Western Wheel and came up with a number of possibilities.
There is something out there that will work!

Don't know what was original. They were on a car I dragged out of the desert in Nevada. They were a hidden bonus to the $500 rust free body I salvaged. Anyhow I am likely to trade the Westerns once my new Work wheels arrive next week. I like to steer potential new owners to cap options. I gave up searching.

A big +1 on this..... I really like the look of the Watanabe's and I'd have a set on my car tomorrow if they would just offer one with a decent center cap. Really hard to justify the $2K plus price tag for what ends up making the car look like a contender for the Baja 1000. I totally understand why the legitimate race cars leave them off but when it comes to a fully restored Roadster the "cap-less" look makes the car look like you changed a flat and are running on the spare.

Just my .02c
