Hi my name is chris. A few months ago I embarked on a full restoration of my 68 2000 Roadster. I recently completed most of the disassembly. Last thing I did was remove rear axle bearings. Some folks, at the Solvang classic, were nice enough to give me a heads up on how to do that. It was more difficult that they described. Now for the fun part. Cleanup and reassemble. And spend lots of money on parts.

I don't have much time tonight, but I plan to be here asking a lot of questions. I thank any, and all, of you for your much valued help.

Welcome! Post pictures when you get the chance. Having gone to Solvang you are way ahead of the curve and off to the right start for your restoration!

Going to the shows, even without a car, is a great way to inject a dose of motivation along your restoration journey. Good luck, and don't be shy about asking questions when you get stuck!

If I post the pictures on facebook, can I link to them using the image button? I read on the FAQ that I can't upload from my PC.

This is what I started with. Looks much better in the photos than real life.

Here is the beautiful 1970's gold interior. It was last registered for the road in 1982.

Front passenger fender had been welded on. I had to remove about a half inch of bondo before prying it apart.

The dreaded rust. Notice the broken fender bolt.

Master cylinder had seen a few hot days.

This is what I found that made me decide it was time for the full restoration, rather than squirt some gas in and try to fire it up. I guess that only works on TV shows. My car hadn't run since the mid 80's.

Then I took the water pump off. May have had some cooling issues. They never have issues like this on the TV shows.

The front fenders are welded on from the factory, so not unusual there. The bondo on the other hand is not factory! :-)
