Hard Top fitting

Post by jayd »

Good morning to everybody
After wheels, another topic : how to fit the hardtop ?
I remind that i will own (as the car is on its way to France !) a Roadster 1600 from 1969.
The car is delivered with an hardtop that i will have to renew.
But the previous owner told me already that he haven't th parts to install it on the car.
I found nothing about this point on the web.
Only parts like these but i'm not sure that they match :

Can you help me please and tell me what are the brakets i need, and it would be great even if you can send me some pictures in order for me to understand how it works.

Many many thanks

It depends on the hard top. Some use the latches from the soft top, while others had special latches.

In general, they do all seem designed to use the existing hardware for mounting the softtop on the car side (Windshield latch receiver and tensioners at the door pillar behind the seats) - the top latch side is the big difference as SPL310 points out.

Those parts are for a 67.5 model. Yours has 3 clips of a different type. I would wait until you have it and then see what's needed.
