I was thinking about buying this book by Tom Monroe: How to Rebuild Your Nissan and Datsun OHC Engine.
I believe the book is on the L-series engines, might it be of use to someone with a U20?
And if not, can anyone recommend a more appropriate reference on our engine?

I'm using it as a reference while working on my 2000. The engines are different, but a lot of the theory is the same. He explains the procedures and tells what to look for.
There's not a lot of good reference for roadsters, I have a bunch of books on MGB's, TR's, etc. which give you an idea of what to do.
Wick Humble's z-car restoration book is pretty good as well.

It DOES hold true to the U20. However, you will find that the U20 already has most of the things they recomend. It is pretty cool when you start looking at the engine, and reading what they are suggesting, mostly its already been done.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!
