Hi guys my name is Emmanuel (everybody calls me Emmy) and I just picked up a 67.5 1600 !
Im 18 years old, from Los Angeles and am on Ratsun and own an 83 Sentra Wagon as my daily/build; so one can say im dipping my feet into the Datsun goodies
Picked up 67.5 1600 this weekend! I've been looking and dreaming about one for a few months and it has been inspiring me to get my integra(crashed and was parting out) out of the garage (why i haven't been wrenching on the wagon recently) Last weekend i finished it and ended up talking to the seller of the roadster right on time. After being sincere and telling him what i'd offer it was constant battle between the guy and I about the price. He needed to get rid of it because of his complex regulations so i used this to my advantage. The guys said he was on this forum, his name was Garrett and told me another guy from this forum went to buy it with him by the name of Matt? I ended up picking it up for a steal today cause out of all the guys who talked to him i was the only one who showed up with cash and didn't flake. B)
Pros:
-Original 102 miles on it (head rebuilt roughly 30k ago)
-isn't running because it isn't getting fuel but he cranked it for me and it turned over nicely
-everything is there but the mirror and front emblem
-included hardtop in extremely good condition
-numbers match
-included a lot of extra parts to get it running
-nice western cyclone wheels included
-racing roll bar
-california car (3rd owner; guy before me had it for 3 months and bought it from OG owners family
-goes into gears nicely (car off)
-low price
Cons:
-biggest con is two rust spots under sideskirt panel rear
-has some wear on edge of trunk and doors (not cancer)
The biggest problem to me are the two rust spots, but i just couldn't pass up the car because of this. My brother has friends who weld for a living so i need to talk to them ! The rarety of a half year in this condition for this price with everything makes me so happy

Welcome, that's a great project and sounds like you have some resources to tackle the tough issues. First advice - get it running and driving before worrying about the cosmetics.

Thank you ! Thats what i always do when i get a car but i spent every penny on this bad boy and wont be able to buy or fix the parts to get it running for a few paychecks (alternator, brake master)
-For now i will probably just kill time and attack some surface rust with the resources i already have!
Thank you for the advice!

if you are not concerned about keeping it totally stock, a 510 master with adaptors and a GM one wire alernator are options that are generally a lot less expensive. The GM alt is easily done for a car where it's located on the passenger side of the engine, not sure if someone has swapped one mounted down in the pit (drivers side). I got my last 510 brake master from Rock auto for what... $15 bucks? I'm sure they are more now, but still...
I know what it's like to be on a budget and wanting to drive your Roadster...

Welcome, young man, nice score on the car. Cash is king isn't it?
No swearing over here on 311, unlike RatsunLOL.
If you spend your time reading as much as you can on this forum, including the TechWiki, then you will be able to save alot of your hard earned money. Alot.
Members here are very helpful if you have questions. Just try the suggestions and report back and you will get all the help you need.
In addition there are occasional Fun Runs, Fix-It BBQs and the like, and the big Solvang meet is in 2 months.
Check out SuperCar Sunday in Woodland Hills to catch a few local Roadsters, and 510 owners.
We will enjoy your enthusiasm, and be safe!

Check the Wiki. The 510 master is pretty much identical except that the brake lines were metric and thus a different pitch (or vise versa, I honestly don't remember as I redid my brake lines 30yrs ago from stuff I got at the autoparts store). Never the less, there are specific adaptors identified in the Wiki that will allow you to use the 510 master and keep your stock Roadster brake lines. The only other differences are the bleeders are on the other side of the master (so what) and you will want to swap out your pedal push rod as the 510 will not allow for proper adjustment... close, but no cigar. Easy to do, it is held in with a clip.
