Solvang judging
I showed my girlfriend the photos of last years winners. She asked me who judges the cars and what do they look for. I gave her my usual answer, "I dunno". Any of you former event participants have the answer?

The judges...It's people choice!
Ballots are given out and folks choose there top choices for each of the categories. Usually the categories include, early cars (1500s), 1600 high windshield, 1600 low windshield, 2000 high hindshield, 2000 low windshield, custom, best of show...
I'm not sure on the categoires for this year...but Lou can provide the proper info.

Since it's a people's choice ballot, the judging criteria changes from person to person. What's important to you?
One person may eliminate a car because it doesn't have the original (side moulding, cloth wrapped hoses, seat covers, take your pick), the next may not care. Some may judge on overall appearance, some, on detailed items.
Me, for example, can't stand an engine compartment that's not the same as the body color, others would not find this important at all.
The whole "Judging" part is pretty low on my list as far as why I go to Solvang. When we gat together and have a good time, we all win.

Have you seen the movie "Sideways" you sound like Jack.
For those of you who haven't seen it yet, it is a funny movie about these two guys who go to Solvang to go wine tasting for a week. One guy Miles, is really into wine, the other guy Jack just wants to get laid a week before his wedding, it's hilarious! Big Thumbs Up!!
Those of you who regularly attend the Roadster show will recognize many sights.
