EXCITING NEWS: Mt Shasta City council has approved the 2015 meet for Mt. Shasta Blvd again. A section of Mt Shasta Blvd will be closed to through traffic and will be exclusively dedicated to the Mt. Shasta Roadster show. The City of Mt. Shasta are very pleased to have the Roadsters back and loved the event nothing but great comments by the folks in town. The web site has been up for several months, we have just been waiting for the approval to make the announcement. This will be the 31st YEAR of the show and our third year on the city streets. The dates for the show are July 16th, 17th and 18th. If you have never been or it’s been awhile since the last time you attended, you might find it to be a great place to visit. In addition to the show a number of fellow roadster enthusiasts put on some great events surrounding the show, fun runs, poker runs, parts swaps, etc., so we hope to see lots of fellow roadster nuts. Also please spread the word that old Datsun’s 73 and older non roadsters are welcome!

Tammy and I went last year for the first time. Certainly will not be the last. You won't meet a nicer group of people anywhere. Everybody was very welcoming. We didn't know a single person there but were immediately included in the family that is the Mt. Shasta Datsun roadster meet. If you are on the fence about going, just get yourself registered and get there!

Yes, pretty sad registration for this year--20 couples-folks registered so far with a little over a month to go. If I was not stuck in the middle of the corn fields of Iowa I would be there. This is by far the show I most liked while living in California. This is a three day event of meeting folks with like interests and varying back grounds. Plus there are always additional activities to enjoy. You are guaranteed to have fun whether you show up with a roadster or not. Come on people get those registrations submitted. If nothing else you will come away with a roadster buzz.

This has always been an incredible show! Really miss attending but it's just too far away now and work/family don't allow enough time to bomb out there.

We are only about 6 weeks from the Mt Shasta Datsun Roadster meet, the longest running roadster event of them all! If you have never been to the Shasta meet, it is a very special event. I say event because it’s much more than a car show, there are a large number of activities surrounding this event put on by people who are true enthusiasts and love the old Datsun’s. The weekend starts on Thursday night with the ice cream social put on by Keith Williams using his special vintage ice cream machines. The weekend goes on from there. Friday starts with a fun run and poker run put on by Ted Heaton. Then in the afternoon it’s off to the park where Kevin Reid puts on the coast which is fun to watch especially when some of our Canadian participants come up with highly creative measures to get the plumb bob as close as they can to the center. After the coast everyone is at the base hotel the Swiss Lodge for a meet and greet with appetizers and refreshments. And finally on Saturday is the show, on a main city street plus a participant swap meet after the show and tech tips for SU’s by Keith Williams back at the headquarter hotel. And finally the awards banquet Saturday night.

I have talked to a large number of people over the past ten months that said they were planning on making Shasta this year. Our planning team spends a lot of time and effort planning this 3 day event to ensure a good time is had by all. I would like to take this opportunity to ask people if they are planning to attend if they would step up and register now because we need to get a head count for the awards, the banquet, and the various events. Registration and Meet information is on our website at: http://mtshastaroadstermeet.311s.org/ . Looking forward to seeing everyone at Mt Shasta this year July 16th, 17th and 18th!

Come on, let's support this event!

For me, it is about 700 miles and 11 hrs driving time. The same distance and time if you live in San Diego, Las Vegas, Pocatello, or Spokane. Live outside that circle you have a legitimate excuse. :P

For Ted, who is 100 miles closer, it will only take 6 hours of driving and 4 hours of picture taking! :P

Won't make it this year : (

I encourage anyone who is able to go--you will NOT be disappointed.

When I lived on the west coast, the show was always a huge part of my summer. I went from whenever the first year was (84 or 85) all the way to 2001, only missing one show in between.

So if you're on the fence--just register and GO!

Maybe next year I can take a few weeks off from work, hit I-40 and wind my way through CA and meet up with a group for the trip...

Last year was my first time. Coming again this year for the whole enchilada. Camping out with Shifty and his family at the KOA. Really enjoyed the pool last year.

Hey Roadster Friends,

Not registered yet for the BEST Roadster show?
Shasta is the best roadster show. Trust me, I have been to them all.
So you need to be there.
Best to come Thursday night for the evening social and Keith W. ICE CREAM.
and to catch all 4 events on Friday.
Morning fun drive
Mid day Poker Run with real money to be won!
Afternoon "coast" event.
Evening social.
I have planned new routes for the fun drive and the Poker run.
If your on a limited budget, you can camp for free in the National Forest on the sides of Mt Shasta.
It is nice and cool at 6000+ feet. I can even direct you to a prime camp spot.
And as a special inducement to our favorite Female 311s member, LINDA, I will pay her entry fee if she attends!!
(but only if she DRIVES her roadster to the meet).
Come on Linda, Your cam is fixed, drive that roadster to the show!.
I will be there with my son and both my SR20DET roadsters.
See ya there!

Ted.

Ted, you are too funny and quite the marketing master! PT Barnum has nothing on you!
Thank you for your generous offer, but I must decline.
I am still in the engine break in period for the car so I do not yet have certainty that it won't blow up....... It's an amateur build you know!
However to add to your post, Shasta seems like it would be a lot of fun, with all the activities, beautiful scenery, and as you mentioned, some great camping areas. And the chance to really meet everyone, with the added time. I especially like that there is actual driving at the event!
In case you buy another SR20 and need it delivered, I'm available LOL
Linda

Seriously toying with the idea of a 2 day run to Shasta from Canada... Would have to leave Wed. the 15 and arrive late Thursday the 16... 1437 miles to go, Google maps says 23 hours. Split it into 2 12 hour days. Haven't registered or looked for accomodation yet, spur of the moment thing

https://goo.gl/maps/C0r2e

Would definitely go through Idaho as I've driven the Columbia plateau through WA state last year on the bike, 95 south of Lewiston is a much better roadster road :D

Am I too late now... is everything booked?

Hi Rob,
Check with DatsunDave in "your fair city" as he made the trip last year.
NO PROBLEM getting rooms. Check in Weed and on the Shasta web site.
Go for IT!.
It is the BEST Roadster meet!!
You might win the "iron butt" award for that distance.

Ted.
