good afternoon everyone,

I am in the process of restoring my 67.5 and still want to use my split empi's. My question is and I have been searching is how easy is it to go to a tubeless tire with these rims. I will use a seal and some rtv over the o'ring channel for support but curious about valve stems and tires. All help is greatly appreciated.

I have info that I got from Bob2 on where to buy and what size o rings you need. I can forward this to you when I get home. Would think you could get the metal valve stems from any big tire store. Mike

I am running Falken Azinis on my two piece EMPIs. I've got maybe 500 miles on them. They do not hold air for more than a week. I've not yet taken the time to see why or how this can be fixed. I am curious how others have fared and how you do Sleek.

I know that my wheels were pretty rough and kept gassing out when I had them powder coated. They had to be baked, I think, four times and shot three in between before they started to look decent. They are still not perfect.

Wow, sounds like a real pain for a look.

Yea. I was disappointed in the wheels but they are old and who knows how they were stored, used etc. I didn't have to pay for all that was done by the powder coating place. I only had to pay the initial quote which was a decent number.

They look decent from 15 feet and since the Rusty Roadster is a 20+ footer so other than the fresh stroker, the wheels are the highlight.

Currently I have tubes in two of mine and two tubeless, even after sitting over 30 years one still holds air well while the other bleeds off pretty quick. I'm going to try new o rings and valve stems without rtv, providing the mating surface looks good when I remove the old tires. Not many options for 14 in. Performance tires. Mike

Mike thanks for the input I am going to check them out and see what they can do for me. As far as to why I am using these rims well I am restoring the car to what my father raced as back in the late 60's and 70's so I am trying to mix old with new. Mike thanks for those tires I have read a lot of good posts about them so they are definitively an option.

I have these tires on my roadster. They stick well and I have yet to hear any tires sqeals from them. Have you posted any photos of your car?
