Best non-oem exterior color

Post by s2knsx »

Hello
purchased a roadster and it's getting a full restoration in socal
I am thinking of getting the same paint color as Eddie wu
Car.....However I wanna see what else is available
If you have any pics of roadster with a differnt color scheme please do share.
I want a color that really shows off the lines on the car
The vehicle currently has a sr20 so it's not a purist car and I am infact looking for a non-oem color so show what u Have in mind.

Probably the best selection of roadster paint jobs can be seen in the first page of the wheel thread:

FWIW, if you want something different, why copy someone else's paint?

Imho a metallic color will show off the lines of the car due to its reflectivity.
Check out the car shows and fun run section.

Red paint is expensive, but Guards Red looks amazing too. I'm also partial to deep reds with small metallics. There are so many, and most roadsters in red look super sporty.

Silvers too!

Personally I think Black makes roadsters look stubby, but a WELL DONE-no dents-no orange peel-3 feet of depth in Black paint job is a thing to behold. big $$$$.

my 2 cents
I love the color of my 86 300ZX T a medium gold it's called not sure the color code right now ,
but is a metallic tan in the day, kind of understated ,but at night has a pearl that give a iridescent lt gold nearly a completely different look
ever seen the dark pearl purple metallic . it's not so purple until you right up on it ....best of luck
my Spl is painted Centari( that was cheap paint ) brand flash red & clear coated

The paint and wheels should compliment each other, so if you already have your rims that should limit your color selections.

Gun metal rims ave very popular these days as are red and silver cars.......thats why I am looking for another color.......cooper shades look very nice and I have seen only a few cars painted in a cooper shade.

Choosing paint colour is one of the most difficult and important decisions for a roadster owner.

I suggest looking through some group pictures from Solvang and Shasta meets. See what paint colours draw your attention immediately and what colours keep you coming back for a second and third look.

I am obviously biased but I like big bold colours that make your car unique. :smt003

I'm thinking Austin Yellow or Yas Marina Blue would both go well on a Roadster.

Always wanted to do a blue a little darker than Sora--that Yas Marina Blue might be the ticket.
