Hello all, my name is Matthew and this week I purchased my first datsun, a 1969 2000 in red. I haven't been able to find out which shade as I am picking her up from Virginia tomorrow. Originally I had been in the market for a variety of other classic cars; 510, 240z, 2002, 122 amazon, but this car kinda fell into my lap and it was too good of a deal to pass up on.

The car came with a hardtop, ugly as it may be, as well as a soft top and a tonneau cover. From what I can gather, everything has been working great with the exception of some bad gas and some rewiring that needs to be done.

A little bit about myself. I live in North Carolina and attend Virginia Tech for college. This is my second car and will serve as a fun, sporty project as I already have a daily driver. My daily is a 2005 Legacy GT Wagon. She is stage 3 and puts down around 290 awhp

The seats need recovering along with just a general interior cleaning. I'm sure that as I am able to inspect the car further with the help of my father, we will find more that needs fixing. He has spent his entire life around this generation of cars and grew up driving a 1969 MGBGT with a rover v8 swap. Currently he has been working on his own project

I am really looking forward to becoming a part of this community and I have a lot to learn

Matt:
your car looks complete and original from the outside other than the fender mirrors, The missing DATSUN and 2000 emblems (one on each fender and one the rear left rear panel) are still available. The hard to find side mouldings are a good sign.

Welcome Matthew, nice looking car (cars). With Peter on the antenna. Is that a BGT in the last bay? Congrats to your dad for passing on the car gene! Mike

It is a BGT but we just sold that one after fixing it up a bit. I'm not sure what the story with the antenna or the fender mirrors is

Just like the car I had in high school. Sans hard top and fender mirrors. Mine had the same wheels as well. I wonder if those were a dealer upgrade option? Nice car, enjoy the crap out of it.

The Healey's interior looks quite inviting and comfortable. Nice, laid back drive. What a beautiful car... both actually! Welcome to the Roadster world! As noted, great bunch of people here who want nothing more than to help you get the most out of your experience. Glad you joined our family!
