Bay Area Holiday Beer & Brat Fest 12/20

Who's thirsty? :smt114

I'm looking for help to put a tub back on frame.

One idea I had may require the use of 4 or more Roadsterholics to lift the car manually before securing hoist chains. This would make the reverse of getting it on the cradle go a little smoother. We had hoist clearance issues...

Beer and Brats will be provided if you thought you'd need some incentive to drive from as far away as say, Idaho...I see more time enjoying holiday cheer than directing... :D

Let me know if if you think you can help that Saturday morning...

Thanks! -Kurt

Sweet Kurt!
Looking great. I'm sure you'll get enough help. I'm a bit far to assist, but will help in spirit!

I'm driving to San Jose (from Vegas!) on the 20th, if I get in early enough, I would love to swing by and help.

It's beginning to look a lot like...a Roadster Holiday Fest :smt111

Thanks Alvin and Ken and others who have PM'd! The more the merrier...this could turn into something really fun! We could even have a thirsty traveler from Las Vegas!!

So don't miss out...

I'd love to help especially since I had helped with the separations, but I'll be out of town.

I'll keep an eye out for pics and videos to document the union.

Mike, you'll be missed :(

So far, I count 5 Roadsters and a GTR! Tell your wife you need to go to Home Depot, or bring her! Meet around 9:30 and start about 10.

The help I need should take no more than an hour

We could have a fun run afterwards or hang around and have holiday cheer...or both!!

While you are all gathered together, toast my birthday! And yes, money and Roadster parts (new or gently used) are all accepted... :smt003 Seriously, I love it when Roadster people come together to help each other out... that's what makes it all the more fun to be a Roadster owner!

SRL-0520's frame and body are now together again!

Image

Kurt built this dolly himself and needed a few burly-muscle heads (like myself) to help hold the body and lower it on the frame.

Ken (pletch), Leo (seabiscuit), Mike, Dan and Kurt's friend all helped out.
Dan(neighbor) had a 2015 GT-R in Regal Red!

Engine hoist used to lift front end:

We lifted the back, the dolly broken down and slid out, and the frame was rolled underneath. It was surprisingly smooth!

We made some adjustments to line up the mounting holes:

Looked good, here are the parcel shelf holes lining up:

Done, and rolling back into garage as one:

#0520 will be sent out for restoration. Kurt has a bunch of neat goodies that I need to come back to see:

Thanks Kurt it was my first time putting a frame on the body. Excited to see the restoration!
